Downtown Disney Update: Motion Demolition

Got over to Downtown Disney yesterday for a walk after a good catch up lunch with a friend. The former club Motion is coming down quick with Malibu Beach Club (white building at right) up next in the coming weeks. Needless to say, it's a big gaping hole in the skyline.

In other DTD news, I took my first water taxi ride on this cool and rainy day. Rather enjoyed that as we made our way over to the Market Place end of the complex. While there, one of the stores had a cool stylized Ursula display with velvet tentacles and a slim figure. Pin Traders had Chinese New Year Mickey Rabbit pins and Tinkerbell + old style Monorail Art 40th anni pins in the limited section. Might pick those up along with a 40th anni coin to go with my 15th anni coin from years ago. And whatever Ragland Road was cooking, smelled absolutely heavenly. Seriously.

There's now Nightmare Before Christmas merch at D Street and the Star Wars Vinylmations are out and going fast. Yes, Boba Fett does have a jet pack, which is a nice detail. In the Nightmare Vinyls, I've yet to see Pumpkin King or Jack Skellington anywhere in all my park, resort and DTD visits. There are plenty of the other Nightmare characters, but not those two.

Also got out to a couple Orlando music stores to check out gear. Randomly, there was a DeLorean displayed outside of George's Music on I-Drive (pic in the Flickr stream).

Definitely a good day out despite the rain. Cheers and thanks for reading. :)
