TL Brown's Debut Album 2U

What do you get when you combine a singer with roots in Alabama, Bel Biv Devoe, Barry White, a whole lotta Soul, Hip Hop, and a variety of 80's and 90's influences? You get TL Brown's new album 2U.

Admittedly, while I can GREATLY appreciate the contributions from both the Hip Hop and Soul musical communities, they just aren't my preference. Even so, 2U was an enjoyable and smoothe listen, as well as an inspired blending of the above musical styles. Mr. Brown also throws in some interesting cadences in places that freshen things up as well as atmospheric effects to further tell certain musical stories. Translation: Unexpected variety and experimentation. As a fellow artist in the general sense of the word, I applaud this move in the name of creativity.

2U is a solid (yes I went there) debut and Mr. Brown should be proud. Good bet we'll see more good things from him in the years to come.
